Britain's Got Talent: Hobbit Sized Holly Steel

Since nothing significant is happening with The Hobbit Movie, let's take a break blogging about it and talk about the hottest show on earth, Britain's Got Talent. [American Idol fanatics will no doubt disagree that BGT is the hottest show on earth.]

Anyways, we hope that that hobbit-like contestants such as Holly Steel will do good in the show.

The Hobbit - Fantasy Cast

If there's such a thing as fantasy football, why can't there be a fantasy cast for The Hobbit. Here's a cast that a fan would like to see. Tom Cruise as Bilbo and Jessica Simpson as Galadriel are so LOLworthy.

I think they should cast Ben Barnes as an elf and probably Jake Gyllenhaal too.

The Hobbit Movie Posters -- Fan Made

Considering The Hobbit's popularity and LOTR's huge fanbase, I'm not surprised that their are tons of fan-generated posters out there. Here's a sample of what you can find on the internetz. If only the Matt Damon movie Human Factor have as many dedicated fans.

The Hobbit Movie Update: Two Movies, One Novel

The people behind The Hobbit movie have decided to split it into two movies. Am not sure how that will turn out but I must admit that I'm a little pissed. Why don't they just make a 3-hour movie? Are we going to wait the following year after the first part was shown before we watch the end? Methinks this is a marketing ploy to make more money. Sorry if I'm a bit cynical. Maybe I'll just boycott them and go see Chace Crawford's Twelve movie instead. That will teach them a lesson for cutting Tolkien in half. Hehe.

Anyway, here's Guillermo Del Toro and Peter Jackson explaining their decision:

Says Del Toro: "We’ve decided to have The Hobbit span the two movies, including the White Council and the comings and goings of Gandalf to Dol Guldur." Adds Jackson: "We decided it would be a mistake to try to cram everything into one movie . . . The essential brief was to do The Hobbit, and it allows us to make The Hobbit in a little more style, if you like, of the trilogy."
